Water footprint is definded as the total volume of fresh water used to produce the goods and the services we use. It also can tell us how much water is being consumed by a country, an specific group of people... And the amount of water is necessary to produce a product.
It determines different factors like the shortage or the pollution of the water around the world. It permites to improve the manangement of the water.
It proofs of three addend: blue water footprint (is the volume of water extracted from the surface or the underground and is evaporated in the process of a product); green water footprint (is the volume of the water from the rain that is evaporated in the process of a product) ; grey water footprint (is the volume of polluted water).
